[Video/Action for Goldenrod]

Looks like we've finally made it! It's been a long trip, but my Pokémon and I have arrived safely in Goldenrod. I regret not being able to take it at a slower pace, but hopefully the time we spend here will make up for it.

[He pauses here, looking thoughtful.]

I've been... curious, to say the least. In the time I've spent here, I've heard of a few different worlds, and they all seem to have differing views on the subject of magic. So now, I would like to bring the question to all of Johto - what is magic like in your world? If it doesn't exist, what is it supposedly like? My own world relies on magic, so I can't help but wonder.

[Later; Action at the Breeding Centre]

[Asuma arrives, Reika the Gloom following him as always. He's mostly just checking the place out for now, but he'll probably make his way to the front desk at some point. Bother? Help the guy out? It's up to you!]

Maybe if more people thought that way, it wouldn't.

Most of them, un! I never had a pet or anything back home, so I'm note really sure how they'd compare there... but they're as smart as people, most of them! [[Just very child like]]

Rules and formula? Hmm...I haven't heard of either being implemented in my world's ideal of magic. At least not 'pure' magic. Alchemy is another story. But then again, I've come to find that alchemy is far more real than previously thought.

So if a person does not possess the aptitude, are they therefor rendered unable to use magic? Would they not be able to learn?

Well, both, technically. But I knew him waaay before coming here.

If only they did... I think I would much prefer it.

But I suppose there's no use pining for the impossible.

I never had a pet, either, but I've never heard of animals learning so quickly. It's amazing.

They could learn of magic and the theory behind it, but they would not be able to perform it themselves, no. It's an innate power, and without it there isn't much one could do.

Wow, that's pretty lucky of you!

Ah, I see...how unfortunate that would be. [[Now she wonders if she would have that, or if she would be unlucky enough to be born without.]] Is it hereditary? Or merely luck? And out of curiosity, if this isn't too personal a question, did you possess such ability?

It really is. [[nods with a fond smile]]

A bit of both. There have been records of families who have had the ability, but there are also a few who awaken to magic later in life.

It's not too personal at all. I am indeed a magic user. My job at home was gathering fellows with the same ability, as a matter of fact.

I'm already looking forwards to whichever other Pokémon I happen to befriend.

Yeah. I guess it's pretty lucky anytime someone from where you come from is here in Johto, actually.

And even moreso when they're a friend, I would think.

Yeah, definitely. I'm sure pretty much anyone would take that over someone they didn't like.

Un, me too!

Still, I have to wonder if anyone would be happy to see someone they hated here, just for a familiar face.

Are there any in particular you're keeping an eye out for?

Mostly ghost types, really.. [[so sheepish. Despite the setback at the first gym... yeah, ghost types all the way for this dork.]]

Are those your favorites, then?

Un. Even before coming here, those types were always my favorites.

Why the interest, if you don't mind me asking? Is it just because of their abilities, or...?

It's just something I've always been interested in! [[his dead sister and mother have nothing to do with it, no no, why would you think that!]] Even when my mother would always tell me stories when I was little.

I guess it depends... I mean, there's definitely a few people who'd just piss me off no matter what.
