youngforhisage: (That's not how it goes.)

[Today, Asuma looks uncharacteristically serious. By his sides are two new Pokémon - a Swablu and a Ivysaur. The two seem to be taking comfort in one another's presence for now.]

...It seems that many people have been disappearing as of late. I have two more to report.

The first is a young boy who was missing an arm. His name was Tetsu.

[Or at least, that's what he information on the Ivysaur indicated.]

The other was a quiet boy with white hair who worked at the Breeding Centre. Mytho.

[The Swablu gives an unhappy cry at the mention of this, prompting Asuma to give her a few comforting pets.]

...I will be taking care of these two myself. I just wanted to let others know in case they were wondering what happened.

Thank you for your time.

[Video; Action for the Goldenrod Breeding Centre]

[It's late at night when the feed clicks on-- and there is a weary face from Asuma to accompany it. He speaks quietly, only too aware of the hour.]

Hopefully I'm not waking anyone who was already asleep. I seem to have woken up, and somehow I can't quite get back to it.

So instead of tossing and turning in bed... I thought I'd pose another question. Ah, but it's a little morbid, so if you don't want to discuss it, I would be happy to talk about other things instead.

[He pauses for a moment, choosing his words carefully.]

In your lives... how do you come to terms with your own mortality? It's something I had to come to terms with quickly in my own life due to circumstances, but I've become curious. All of us - well, no. Generalizations don't always work here, now do they? Most of us won't live forever. Some even come from dangerous backgrounds where the chance of survival is not especially high. How do you, personally deal with this?

[After these solemn words, he gives a slight chuckle.]

...Of course, it's late. I might even regret this question by the time morning comes properly. Ah, well. If you don't want to talk about dark things, answer me this instead: how are you, and what do you plan to do for the holidays?
youngforhisage: (...Got me!)

[Asuma is in the living room with a small instrument in hand when the feed starts up. It's obvious he notices - his Sandslash was not especially sneaky about such things.]

...So you want me to have an audience for something like this?

[The Sandslash responds with an affirmative "Slash!!", and Asuma can only smile with a mixture of amusement and embarrassment.]

...If you insist. But if any viewers out there want to cut the feed, I take no offense! I haven't had much time to practice, so I'm not any good yet. But maybe some of you could give me tips?

[With that out of the way, he puts the instrument - a shiny new harmonica - to his mouth. As promised, he is not very good at all. Though he is consulting a small booklet that came with the instrument, there are many times when no sound makes it through the harmonica at all. Still, attentive viewers may be able to pick out a few simple tunes as he practices.]
youngforhisage: (And that's that!)

Looks like we've finally made it! It's been a long trip, but my Pokémon and I have arrived safely in Goldenrod. I regret not being able to take it at a slower pace, but hopefully the time we spend here will make up for it.

[He pauses here, looking thoughtful.]

I've been... curious, to say the least. In the time I've spent here, I've heard of a few different worlds, and they all seem to have differing views on the subject of magic. So now, I would like to bring the question to all of Johto - what is magic like in your world? If it doesn't exist, what is it supposedly like? My own world relies on magic, so I can't help but wonder.

[Later; Action at the Breeding Centre]

[Asuma arrives, Reika the Gloom following him as always. He's mostly just checking the place out for now, but he'll probably make his way to the front desk at some point. Bother? Help the guy out? It's up to you!]
