[It's evening by the time the post goes up. Late enough that some might have even gone to sleep, but given that this is Johto, some may certainly still be up. Asuma, for his part, has a weary smile as he idly pets a newly captured Shinx curled up at his side.]

Good evening. It's been a busy week, hasn't it? I don't think I've seen so many Pokémon swarming all at once in all the time I've been here.

[There's a pause.]

That is to say... the whole year I've been here. It's a little hard to believe; it feels like a long time has passed, and yet I don't feel as though I've grown all that much. I still feel more or less the same as I did the year before.

[His voice suddenly becomes quieter.]

...Very curious.

[And then back to normal volume.]

At any rate, I would like to thank the people I have met during my stay here, both those who remain and those who have since left. I do not know how much longer we will remain in one another's company, but I intend to enjoy it for as long as it lasts.
youngforhisage: (You'd be good with kids!)

I've heard word that there will be quite the celebration in honor of the Breeding Centre's first anniversary. Has anyone else been planning on attending? I know I'm looking into it. It would be good to see everyone in person again if possible!

[Filtered to Misaki and Vilof]

Regarding that very same party, would either of you like to accompany me?
youngforhisage: (I told you so.)

[The feed starts up with an image of Asuma smiling as he holds up a certain badge]

--I thought I might as well earn this since I would be in the area. It should make traveling much more convenient.

Is anyone else in Violet City? Vilof, I didn't see you on the road, so you must still be around, correct? And Misaki, did you make it out of Cherry Grove by any chance?
youngforhisage: (I told you so.)

[Today, the view is... of a rock. A very large rock, that has been carved into more of a slab, really. From the looks of the surroundings, it's not far from the entrance to Union Cave. And carved into the rock are... names.

After a moment, the video will turn to a grinning Asuma.
]

It took some time, but the monument has been made! I've taken the opportunity to write in as many names as I've gathered, but if anyone still wants to contribute, feel free to. I will be here for a while longer, so I don't mind adding a few more!

The stone itself is easy enough to carve into; anyone can add themselves. I've put up a sign to direct newcomers to it, so hopefully that will be enough.

[The background shifts suddenly as he takes a seat, leaning against the stone wall.]

So, what has everyone been up to as of late? I know that after this I plan to make a visit to Violet City!

[Audio/Action for the Breeding Centre common area]

[It's late at when Asuma's call goes out to anyone paying attention to their 'Gears. His voice is quieter, just in case.]

Hello. This is Asuma. I just thought I'd put out a message regarding the monument project. Due to the current circumstances, it will be delayed. Sorry for the inconvenience.

However, this also gives me more time to collect names. I've been trying to keep track of names mentioned over the network, but of course there is no way for me to gather them all by myself. If you have some spare time, please consider sending me a message with the names of anyone you knew during your stay here, whether or not they are still here. The goal is to collect as many names as possible and create a monument with all of them, as a mark of those who have passed through these routes!

[There is a pause.]

...That aside, I can't seem to fall asleep tonight. If any of you would like to chat, I'd be grateful. It can be about any topic you would like.

[In the meantime, he will be chilling in the common room! His Bellossom is accompanying him, as well as a very fluffy Mareep. Others around the house are free to simply talk to him in person.]

Hello! I hope today finds you all well. I know I'm in quite a good mood, especially with the weather being as it is. It's a nice reprieve from the winter chill, wouldn't you agree?

At any rate, I thought it would be good to toss up a reminder in case anyone has missed it. I happen to be working on creating a monument of sorts, and I would like to collect the names of everyone who has ever come here. This includes people who are currently in Johto or Kanto as well! If you could submit your name and those of others you have met during your stay, it would be highly appreciated. I'll be leaving in a moment, but after some trial and error I have put up a message box in case people would like to simply leave names there instead.

Thank you in advanced!

[Action for Goldenrod]

[Throughout the day, Asuma will be handing out flowers to any females he encounters! He means well at least?]

Lovely day out, isn't it miss?

[As for the guys, he may just drop by with a friendly hello!]

I may need to take a while off of work for a personal project. Would that be alright with you?

Hello! I have a few requests to make of everyone today. If you have any input at all, it would be greatly appreciated!

I've been thinking lately that it would be nice to have some sort of monument that could be easily reached by anyone who comes here. We could use it to keep a list of the names of those who have spent time in this world, as a sort of reminder. And if it were near New Bark Town, it would be a simple matter for newcomers to add their own names.

However, I can't do this on my own. It's been some time since I traveled the routes, so if anyone who has recently been through the area between, say, New Bark Town and Violet City could give me some advice on where to make such a monument, it would be extremely helpful. I will try to make my way back to do some looking around on my own, but if I were to have specific areas to check out, it would make the process much faster.

Secondly, I have not been here nearly as long as many of the people here, nor could I possibly know every person on the network. Therefore, if you would like to submit your name and those of the people you knew who have since left, I would be happy to add them to the list of names initially put on the monument.

And... that about covers it. Thank you for your time.
youngforhisage: (That's not how it goes.)

[Today, Asuma looks uncharacteristically serious. By his sides are two new Pokémon - a Swablu and a Ivysaur. The two seem to be taking comfort in one another's presence for now.]

...It seems that many people have been disappearing as of late. I have two more to report.

The first is a young boy who was missing an arm. His name was Tetsu.

[Or at least, that's what he information on the Ivysaur indicated.]

The other was a quiet boy with white hair who worked at the Breeding Centre. Mytho.

[The Swablu gives an unhappy cry at the mention of this, prompting Asuma to give her a few comforting pets.]

...I will be taking care of these two myself. I just wanted to let others know in case they were wondering what happened.

Thank you for your time.

[Video; Action for the Goldenrod Breeding Centre]

[It's late at night when the feed clicks on-- and there is a weary face from Asuma to accompany it. He speaks quietly, only too aware of the hour.]

Hopefully I'm not waking anyone who was already asleep. I seem to have woken up, and somehow I can't quite get back to it.

So instead of tossing and turning in bed... I thought I'd pose another question. Ah, but it's a little morbid, so if you don't want to discuss it, I would be happy to talk about other things instead.

[He pauses for a moment, choosing his words carefully.]

In your lives... how do you come to terms with your own mortality? It's something I had to come to terms with quickly in my own life due to circumstances, but I've become curious. All of us - well, no. Generalizations don't always work here, now do they? Most of us won't live forever. Some even come from dangerous backgrounds where the chance of survival is not especially high. How do you, personally deal with this?

[After these solemn words, he gives a slight chuckle.]

...Of course, it's late. I might even regret this question by the time morning comes properly. Ah, well. If you don't want to talk about dark things, answer me this instead: how are you, and what do you plan to do for the holidays?
youngforhisage: (...Got me!)

[Asuma is in the living room with a small instrument in hand when the feed starts up. It's obvious he notices - his Sandslash was not especially sneaky about such things.]

...So you want me to have an audience for something like this?

[The Sandslash responds with an affirmative "Slash!!", and Asuma can only smile with a mixture of amusement and embarrassment.]

...If you insist. But if any viewers out there want to cut the feed, I take no offense! I haven't had much time to practice, so I'm not any good yet. But maybe some of you could give me tips?

[With that out of the way, he puts the instrument - a shiny new harmonica - to his mouth. As promised, he is not very good at all. Though he is consulting a small booklet that came with the instrument, there are many times when no sound makes it through the harmonica at all. Still, attentive viewers may be able to pick out a few simple tunes as he practices.]
youngforhisage: (I told you so.)

[It's time for a shot by Skarmory cam! The camera bobs slightly with the beat of metal wings, but it's still very easy to see Asuma sitting on some steps with his back to a building, a small crowd of children in front of him. It looks like he's putting on a short show.]

Watch very closely, okay?

[His hands are both out, empty with the palms up. No tricks here!]

One, two...

Three!

[Suddenly, there is a burst of smoke as small flowers and tiny birds go flying into the air! Though the flowers eventually meet the ground again, most of the birds seem to be fine with scattering.

All except for one particularly young one, at least. It returns to Asuma, coaxed along by a bit of bread and an outstretched finger for it to perch on.
] There's a good one. Now, who would like to help me with another one?

[One of the children volunteers, and Asuma carefully sets the bird in her hands. Since this is a trick that requires a closer look, the camera 'mon moves closer accordingly.]

Cup your hands around it, but be careful to give it a lot of space, alright? Now, focus on your hands and imagine not one, but two birds.

[The girl nods eagerly, carefully cradling the bird in her hands. Though she can cover the entire bird for the most part, there are still holes from which one can see the occasional flutter of the bird within. Asuma for his part crouches down and holds his hands out in much the same pose, although his hands are empty.]

One... two... three.

[This time, he speaks softly, slowly bringing his hands apart to reveal an identical bird, down to the last brown dot smack in the middle of its forehead. The girl gives a small gasp of surprise as she opens her own hands, and the two matching birds give a few hops before flying away. The girl is left laughing in delight.]
youngforhisage: (And that's that!)

Looks like we've finally made it! It's been a long trip, but my Pokémon and I have arrived safely in Goldenrod. I regret not being able to take it at a slower pace, but hopefully the time we spend here will make up for it.

[He pauses here, looking thoughtful.]

I've been... curious, to say the least. In the time I've spent here, I've heard of a few different worlds, and they all seem to have differing views on the subject of magic. So now, I would like to bring the question to all of Johto - what is magic like in your world? If it doesn't exist, what is it supposedly like? My own world relies on magic, so I can't help but wonder.

[Later; Action at the Breeding Centre]

[Asuma arrives, Reika the Gloom following him as always. He's mostly just checking the place out for now, but he'll probably make his way to the front desk at some point. Bother? Help the guy out? It's up to you!]
youngforhisage: (...Got me!)

[The feed begins in the dark. Or at least, mostly dark. It's quite early in the morning, and the sun's rays are just beginning to filter in through the blinds of what is unmistakably a room at one of the inns. Near the 'Gear, a smallish form shuffles about, the faint light glinting off its metallic coat. A shadowy beak darts towards the lens, twitching as the owner examines the piece of equipment closely. Slowly opening its beak, it gives a cry...]

SKAAAAAA!

[A flurry of sounds occur right after. For one thing, the newly hatched Skarmory continues giving identical cries, and somewhere nearby, a bed is creaking - someone is getting up.]

Hatched on me early, did you?

[The voice sounds weary, but not all that upset. Sensing this, the Skarmory stops screeching, making its way warily towards the human offscreen.]

Shhh... That's a good boy... There.

[There is the sound of a Pokéball returning its Pokémon, and all returns to a blessed silence. With a yawn, the youth makes to return to bed - but not before checking his 'Gear with the intent of looking at the time.]

--Ah. Terribly sorry about that. I didn't realize I had left this on... unless, of course, this is my Pokémon's doing. In any case, I hope we weren't too much of a bother.

[And then, the feed clicks off. Asuma will not be responding immediately, but he will be happy to do so once he is rested. Otherwise, if you are in Violet City, feel free to run into him, accompanied by a much quieter but still quite young Skarmory.]
youngforhisage: (I told you so.)
[Action for Cherrygrove]

[If you happen to go to the restaurant, you may find yourself being waited on by a certain ponytailed fellow in a very nice apron.]

Hello there! Welcome to Cherry Grove's. Can I start you off with some drinks?

[The feed flicks on, showing a Cherrygrove hotel room and a somewhat weary Asuma. Still, this doesn't stop him from giving a small wave and his usual smile.]

Hello! I have made it to Cherrygrove, if any of you were wondering. I've taken a job at a local restaurant to generate a little money before I set off again.

What else... Ah! I've also acquired another Pokémon. I found him out rather late -

[The camera turns shakily towards a Hoothoot, which appears to be sleeping on its perch. Somehow sensing it is being watched, it opens one eye halfway and gives a quiet 'hoo' before returning to its nap. The camera then returns to Asuma.]

I figure I should try to collect a variety of Pokémon for breeding, so I went ahead and caught him. He seems nice enough.

So, how is everyone else doing? I know I've been enjoying the warm weather. Has anybody else?
